One of the most important components to successfully print from a laser toner printer is the OPC Drum. The function of the OPC drum is to transfer the print from the printing onto the printing paper and it does not contain any laser toner powder inside. Often times, laser toners would separate the OPC drum unit and the laser toner cartridge, and would be sold separately. Due to unfamiliarity with the two units, customers would misunderstood the image drum as the toner cartridge. The OPC drum does not contain any laser toner powder.
